San Diego, California

Earlier in May I packed my suit case the same day of my last final for the semester in college and headed off the next morning to San Diego, California.

I had this idea in my head of California being the perfect place I needed to live in so I wanted to go and experience this place after all this time day dreaming about it. Over all the picture in my head went like this.... Warm breezy sunny days, filled with the smell of the beach and a cute little house by the beach where I could ride my bike to. There would be an avocado and lemon tree, a place where I could plant my own crops... Doing free lance Graphic Design or perhaps working as a Designer for a business near by... Shopping at farmers markers, going to the flea markets to find pieces for my home or just vintage pieces like records.. etc. I felt I could truly live the life I wanted there. Not to mention the many beautiful places to see in the state alone, meaning road trips full of adventure and wander.

While there I was mainly In San Diego, but was able to visit parts of L.A too, like the Santa Monica pier, Disney land, and the Hollywood sign trail.

Here are some of the places I'd recommend checking out

F O O D

  •   Sorrento In little Italy on India St.
The spaghetti carbonara was amazing! Heres the description:
PANCETTA(MEAT! ask w/out if vegetarian.), ZUCCHINI, PARMESAN CHEESE,
BLACK PEPPER, CREAM AND EGGS SAUCE

  •  Miguel's Cocina
They had very good chips and salsa and I don't usually like salsa. Also a nice environment especially at night when I went. I had the Surf and Turf Burrito, which has fries inside so as soon as I saw fries I thought this is the one. Now I modified this burrito way to much for me to give a review thats honest to its true form, but I must say the guac was good and the shrimp and fries were too.

  • Lolitas Taco shop
I had a really good potato taco, rice, beans and fries too! because If a place that has fries, I need them.

  • Nomad Donuts
They have VEGAN donuts! and by far some of the best donuts I've tasted in general. They taste fresh and refreshing which is not something I've ever tasted in a donut.
I got a classic Chocolate covered donut & My cousin had an Uber Taro, which I tried
    and was also very good.

  •  Veggie Grill
They have the amazing delicious beyond meat burger! This is for those wanting to try an all vegan place or who are vegetarian or vegan and want somewhere good and quick to eat.

  • Better Buzz Coffee
This was a really cute Coffee shop with paper straws which I appreciate. Im not a huge coffee person, but the coffee
I had was pretty good. I mostly tried to do some writing and work on the computer while there, as it is very much a typical cute coffee shop place for doing so. I got a Vanilla bean latte: Espresso, Raw Natural Cane Sugar, Infused with Vanilla Bean.

  • Old Town
This place was seriously so cute and full of charm. There are many restaurants and shops around to check out. Awesome for picture taking and exploring. We also did a haunted house tour at the Whaley House. The coolest part for me about this was seeing the older vintage items they had there and how they styled it.

  • Torrey Pines
You can go straight to the beach area or you can do a hike, which is what we did. Its truly a beautiful place with lots of scenery and calmness. There are many little trails around and you can even take your car up, park and then begin on a trail. We hiked all the way up and took a trail than later led us down and onto the beach where we walked until we got back to our starting point.

  • Balboa Park
This is also a sweet place to go walk around, explore and take pictures. Theres a lot to see and there are museums and other stuff to do. I mainly just walked around and took pictures and enjoyed the scenery.

  • Pacific Beach
This was also a very nice area and more hip place to be, whether you are just walking around or laying in the sun or
    in the water.

Overall, I had a really nice time. I stayed with a side of my family I don't see very often so it was nice to connect with them and spend time near them.

Special thank you to my cousin Farah who took pictures for me.. hundreds of them and dealt with it quite well, and drove around to show me new places.
