How to Create a Gallery Wall

This is my current work space. The pictures below are from my old bedroom. Nonetheless the processes is the same.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Brown craft paper (I use a roll)
  • Painters tape, or in my case I had washi tape.
  • Scissors
  • Pen or pencil
Step 1
Arrange the frames on the floor so you can start to play with the placement. I usually like to put the smaller frames inside and the bigger on the outside. I like to go for an a asymmetrical look. Consider where you are placing this. Do they need to be closer or further apart?
Step 2
Once you are happy with how they look, take a picture!
Step 3
Then, place each frame frame on the brown paper and trace the shape of the frame. Also super helpful, try to mark where the nail or screw needs to go for each frame.

Step 4
Next, number them by an order that makes sense to you. Left to right, up down etc.

Step 5
Cut them out!

Step 6
Now start placing the cutouts to the wall in the order you arranged on step 1. This is where you get to see how this will look on your wall. At this point you can rearrange if you don’t like something!
Step 7
Once you like how it looks, get your hammer and nail. You can now just nail in at the spot you marked and pull the brown paper in and either put in your screw or if it only needs a nail, hang your piece! Then you just repeat this for each frame and voila!

I found this super helpful when creating my gallery wall and I hope you will too!
